The Power of HOPE
I was feeling a little blue this week until suddenly, after sixty-nine days underground, a super rad space-looking capsule lifted 33 smiling miners out of the ground, reminding me and the entire world that —
HOPE IS ALL AROUND US!
Hope empowers us. It makes the impossible possible and at the very least it gets us through the days we’re afraid we can’t get through. And, just in case we aren’t “feeling it,” there are so many signs. Read the rest of this entry »
Courage: The Heroes who have it
As my parents’ anniversary approaches, I’m reminded of my brave Mom during what seems like forever ago. It’s a subject I’m not great about discussing, so I won’t right now. But it does make me think about COURAGE and how we don’t really know if we have it until we need it (no matter how well we think we know ourselves).
The Heroes Among Us —
This week three courageous heroes came into my consciousness.
In the L.A. Times this week I read an inspirational article about Iron Man competitor Clayton Treska who is battling Read the rest of this entry »
Urgent Care in the ER
I couldn’t write about this till now, because it freaked me out so much when it happened. Even now I think about it every time I sit down to eat.
It starts out like a typical ER Saturday Afternoon Shift
- nightmare waiting room
- all beds are filled
- labs are piling up
In Trauma, Bed 8, this pretty New York Model (you know I can’t say who) is really having a tough time of it. She’s been there for 14 hours with what she thinks is Acid Reflux (because she can’t keep anything down, not even a sip of water). She’s all nervous, because she’s got a wardrobe fitting scheduled in a few hours for a huge commercial, due to shoot Monday. Read the rest of this entry »
Vids & Webisodes: My Faves
httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M948pizKuxk
Certain oldie-but-goody-vids still make me cry like Susan Boyle showing the world that what’s inside is more important than what’s outside and the “all time” best wedding dance vid “JK Wedding Dance” (which totally makes me want to plan my wedding even though at the moment I don’t have a groom in mind.)
Whenever I need to smile I just watch the “Chest Bump Montage”, which appeals to my inner-goof and I can’t explain why I think “Idiots” is so funny, I just do.
The entire “Mr. Old Spice” campaign totally rocks (not only for me, but for gazillions of others – Who knew?) I just can’t believe I got into it at the end of the campaign, because I have so many questions I’d like to ask Isaiah Mustafa (oh yeah!) Read the rest of this entry »
Dear Innocent Heartbreaker:
Your job has you saying no all-day-every-day to lots of people and projects and material even if you like them, and that can’t be easy on you. So I’m here with a new way to help you say ‘YES!” and get that good karma flowing again.
Its so NOT what you think
- I wont beg you to look at me (no one likes a needy girl, ewww.)
- I wont tease you with my long blond hair and my killer smile (oh, right I wont do that.)
- and I wont chase after you with my long legs (I hate stalkers, obvi!)
But if you don’t take a sec to imagine finding say, Read the rest of this entry »
Making Wishes: 26 Ways
Wow! I never knew there were so many opportunities to make wishes before I started researching this post. Here are 26 (2+6=8) of my faves. Of course, my wish for the first one would totally depend on who’s riding the horse . Read the rest of this entry »
Hospital Heartthrobs: Mixed Messages
It’s another Monday morning and once again, I feel totally confused by my Sunday night ER shift.
Every time I see Dr. A at the hospital, I suffer from “white coat syndrome-itis.” My pulse races. My chest gets all red and splotchy. I get nervous in a way that only happens when I’m in a really important audition. Read the rest of this entry »
