DICK CLARK: Peter Pan at the Prom

be-bopping to the end

Imagine a life where you–

  • Follow every new BEAT  —
  • ROCK OUT with the BEST regularly  —
  • Invite the world to join you.

TIMES changed, MUSIC exploded, DANCE moved in every direction —

But for the most of his 82 years, Dick Clark LOOKED THE SAME, and managed to STAY CURRENT at the same time! Read the rest of this entry »

Actors Keep Track: Pilot Season 2012

Check out Ken Levine's Assessment: http://bit.ly/xV5Xfx

ACTORS! We’re insecure and yet we gravitate to the most insecure industry of all. Crazy!  And there’s so much to stress about  —

PILOT SEASON: The ULTIMATE Test!

Well, here we are again at the beginning of Pilot Season. And this one is getting off to a slightly late start because Networks are still picking up Pilots… every day (and it’s almost February!) Nine Pilots were announced Friday! Half-hour Comedies are especially late — and I predict we’ll hear about a lot more pick-ups in the next couple of weeks, now that Comedies are back in a BIG-RATINGS-WAY.

I like to stay on top of what’s happening because it gives me something to discuss with my Agent before it’s too late. Read the rest of this entry »

2011 Fall TV: LADIES GET THE LAFFS!

SOOOOO many shows! Not enough time to watch them all. But here are two getting a lot of BUZZZZZ…

funny femmes

TWO BROKE GIRLS

With the exception of THE GOOD WIFE, CBS isn’t a network I usually watch a lot. But this season I’m tuning in more now that Ashton has gotten me hooked on TWO AND A HALF MEN, followed by a new fave-in-the-making: TWO BROKE GIRLS.

Watching Kate Dennings (Max) and Beth Behrs (Caroline) bounce lines off of each other is like watching a great game of tennis, with both athletes playing at the top of their game.  Max’s tough cookie with a heart of mush takes pity on Caroline the homeless heiress with a passion for positivity (my mom would love her!) AWKWARD.

A W K W A R D.  is my latest TV addiction!

high school humiliation

And on MTV – who knew?

It’s about a girl who becomes popular for the worst reasons

OK, yeah – I know I know. So that’s partially why I “get” JENNA and (need to) learn from her as she “acts” calmer than she feels in the red face of disaster. But, even if we weren’t on an embarrassing parallel universe — if we’d been in high school together, we would’ve bonded.  And yeah, I can SO imagine Jenna living my life ten years from now (sorry, girlfriend but I’ll teach you how to modify the fugly outfit.) Yep. SOULMATES.

The writing’s smart and authentic. It’s kinda “My-So-Called-Life-ish“ — charmingly painful and painfully charming. I love that Jenna’s friends and frenemies aren’t cookie-cutterish. Like SADIE (short for “sadistic?”) –– I mean, she looks more Rosie O’Donnell than your typical high school she-devil, but was clearly trained in bitchery by Blair Waldorf! Italy: Searching for Restaurants, Great Finds and George Clooney

protection from the paparazzi

Finding the Funny in Italy —

In the short time I’ve been in Lake Como,

I…

  • couldn’t get the car in reverse and had to be pushed
  • encountered a bus and lost my side mirror
  • boarded the wrong train, twice
  • went to the wrong restaurant and unknowingly took someone’s reservation
  • got a rope stuck in a boat motor and got stuck with a big charge

Good Times!  (but it’s what memories are made of, right?) Meanwhile, I’ve also made some — Read the rest of this entry »

Obama Rocks!

Obama practices!

I can’t let this day go by without acknowledging the awesomeness of President Obama. I remember the before-the-election- naysayers warning us that his “style” of dealing with the world wouldn’t be strong enough and —  man, did he prove them wrong! Read the rest of this entry »

Best Part About Living in L.A. (part 2)

L.A. is the land of hopes, dreams and crazy schemes.

It’s where Old Hollywood loves new perspectives — ideas are born, careers are created and legends live on.
