The Power of HOPE
I was feeling a little blue this week until suddenly, after sixty-nine days underground, a super rad space-looking capsule lifted 33 smiling miners out of the ground, reminding me and the entire world that —
HOPE IS ALL AROUND US!
Hope empowers us. It makes the impossible possible and at the very least it gets us through the days we’re afraid we can’t get through. And, just in case we aren’t “feeling it,” there are so many signs. Read the rest of this entry »
Fall TV: First Impressions
THE EVENT – Well that it was! Only problem I have with it is that the story is so ambitious and complicated that I’m left a little confused by the bombastic final scene. The cast is so amazing I just wish I were a little more invested in the characters by the end of the pilot. The back and forth jolting nature of the storytelling made my blonde head spin a little. LAUGHTER = Instant Gratification
I was reminded the other day when I was tweeting @MikeCapozzi that the reason I love doing COMEDY is because I know if it’s working or not. No need to wait for feedback from the Casting Director. It becomes obvious. Like immediately.
Because in Comedy Auditions, you either get the laugh or you don’t. Even if the CD and producers have heard the line a million times before, if you deliver it right, they can’t hold the laugh in. Trouble is you don’t. Why? Because–
Creative Expression is SUBJECTIVE.
Some people “get you” and some people don’t.
Actors, Writers, Musicians, Directors and Stand-up Comics–
have highs and lows depending on how well their– Read the rest of this entry »
Vids & Webisodes: My Faves
httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M948pizKuxk
Certain oldie-but-goody-vids still make me cry like Susan Boyle showing the world that what’s inside is more important than what’s outside and the “all time” best wedding dance vid “JK Wedding Dance” (which totally makes me want to plan my wedding even though at the moment I don’t have a groom in mind.)
Whenever I need to smile I just watch the “Chest Bump Montage”, which appeals to my inner-goof and I can’t explain why I think “Idiots” is so funny, I just do.
The entire “Mr. Old Spice” campaign totally rocks (not only for me, but for gazillions of others – Who knew?) I just can’t believe I got into it at the end of the campaign, because I have so many questions I’d like to ask Isaiah Mustafa (oh yeah!) Read the rest of this entry »
