Volunteering in the ER: a “love/hate” situation
People always ask:
HOW can you stand to work in the ER!?
It’s weird, but now that I’ve done it for awhile, I’m sorta used to it. Some shifts are scarier than others. Or more frustrating — or sad. But every once in awhile, I’ll finish one that actually feels AWESOME!
Do I love it? Well sometimes I feel good about it.
Do I hate it? Oh yeah! Big time.
Am I glad I do it? Being forced into it wasn’t the best intro —
but am I proud I do it? Read the rest of this entry »
What’s so FUNNY?
As a Comedy Actress (???) my question on this sunny (at least in L.A.) #findthefunnyMonday is:
What is funny?
According to the Free Dictionary online:
Funny [ˈfʌnɪ]
adj -nier, -niest
1. causing amusement or laughter; humorous; comical
2. peculiar; odd
3. suspicious or dubious (esp in the phrase funny business)
4. Informal faint or ill to feel funny
But when you think about it, there are so many kinds of “funny” and what’s funny to one person might not be funny to someone else. Obvi. When I’m auditioning for a comedy, if a CD reports back: “She wasn’t funny” is because I’m not funny or the material isn’t funny or the person watching the tape doesn’t get the writer’s idea of funny? A conundrum, that’s for sure.

Romance = Unexpected Connections
An unexpected connection is the best kind of all. Especially when it’s an unexpected connection with someone you’ve wanted to connect with, but wondered if you ever would. An ordinary night becomes extraordinary. A smile means oh so much more. And you realize when you’re following through with something you need to do, (sometimes) your own needs are surprisingly fulfilled too. Uh huh uh huh.
Don’t want to get into details ‘cuz like with an audition if you talk too much about it before it’s really a sure thing, it can go… POOF! Read the rest of this entry »

TV PILOT SEASON 2011: Managing Expectations
Pilot Season is —
- Challenging
- Exhilarating
- Scary
- Stimulating
- Disappointing
- Depressing
- Promising
As an Actor I can (and do) go from extreme highs to a deep lows within just a matter of days (sometimes within hours). In the last few weeks Ive gone from pre-reads to call-backs with producers to negotiations about quotes, to signing contracts, testing and then not getting the parts. Its like those old-fashioned board games where you almost get to the end and then end up at the beginning… Read the rest of this entry »
DREAMS: The Power of Believing
We all have them |think about them | wish they’d come true. Some of us actually make sure they do come true. I’m trying to become one of those laser-focused Actors but it’s a challenge sometimes, obvi.

- Direct our path
- Create goals
- Push us forward
- Encourage risks (the good kind) Read the rest of this entry »
