Missing Nora Ephron and her LISTS
Nora Ephron was and will always be an inspiration to me on so many levels. But reading her “What I Will Miss” and “What I Won’t Miss“ LISTS has me thinking about my own priorities…
What I wont miss
- auditions
- meetings that feel like auditions
- indifferent casting directors
- rejection
- juice cleanses
- reconciling my bank statement (ha! as if!)
- internet dating
- the scale
- the rain
- obligations
- the hospital
- Sunfare
- press junkets
- loneliness
- uncertainty
- indecision
- TSA pat-downs (ugh!)
- living in limbo
- noise
- New Year’s Eve
- people asking me: are you still acting? (the worst!)
What I will miss
- sand between my toes
- twinkly lights
- ice cream
- Channing Tatum (seeing Magic Mike tonight!)
- sushi
- Paris
- sunsets
- New York Times crossword puzzles
- watching Felicity again
- music
- hot pink roses
- the ocean
- working with good directors
- mistletoe
- singing while driving
- spring
- laughter
- possibility
- Dr. A
- Halloween
- Nora Ephron
- Pinot Grigio
- fortune cookies
- the sun
- Christmas
- my friends
- surprises
- my Dad
OH GOOD… just realized, “what I will miss” is longer than “what I won’t.”
Hello my friend! I want to say that this post is awesome, great written and
include almost all important infos. I’d like to see extra posts like this .
I didn’t have time to write it down yesterday…i’ll get on it and get back to you 🙂
Aww these are great lists, Evie!
thanks, but what would you miss? or not miss?
WHAT I WON’T MISS
my part time job
being lonely
freezing cold ocean water
loud noises
rudeness
fickle girls
daydreaming
crappy paychecks
traffic
commercials
liars
WHAT I WILL MISS
family
friends
baseball
family
acting
watching movies
the sound of the ocean
family
my iPhone
sweet tea
fresh air
lakes
my church
did i mention…my family?
i love what you wrote. thank you!
thought of a few more last night:
WHAT I WILL MISS (continued)
a good kiss
hugs
camping
not being able to buy Evie Stewart a drink to celebrate her Academy Award 🙂
oh and my family
GREAT new additions! — I’d be happy at this point to forego the Oscar and be cast on a show that doesn’t get cancelled.
Wish I’d put some of your things on my list.
I’ve been thinking about more too…. I WON’T miss trying to call a human and getting an automated voice that takes twice as long, then finally getting to a human who’s in India, attempting to speak with my accent, but instead speaking in a way I cannot understand AT ALL.
Sorry to rant… really I just want to say “thank you” for putting so much thought into it.
