Wrecked (almost a Hollywood ending)
So my head feels like it’s bursting with too much to think about. Worries snowball into an icy boulder of brain cells pretty much 24/7 as I’m constantly wondering when my next job will happen.
I’m a wreck worried about this stuff. The only paychecks I get right now are from a CSI guest role last year and thankfully CSI plays non-stop on cable and airlines pretty much anytime/anywhere, so those residuals come in quarterly at least. Still, they don’t add up to enough and when I was doing calculations in my head of how I was going to pay for my gym renewal, a guy in a Jeep backed out of a driveway on Crescent Heights right into my Beemer! Doing Shots
I walk into the ER today for an on-call shift (gee, thanks Charlayne), and the first thing I see is Triage filled with people wearing YELLOW MASKS. And btw this isn’t leftover from Halloween – although very scary, just the same. I swear it’s like a scene out of that sci-fi series Andromeda Strain – a total FREAK SCENE – and before I can Purell or even sign in, Anthony snaps “Get to Fast Track, Stat.”

I like these shots better!
In Fast Track, instead of seeing patients, I see a bunch of the staff getting shots. Whaaaa? Even Charlayne is there and she hands me a form and says, “Sign here, cuz y’all need to get the H1N1.” Apparently they had two cases of the Swine Flu in the ER last night! Read the rest of this entry »
Favorite Traditions
Just when I start to think true love doesn’t exist, October 14th rolls around to remind me that it does.
I love celebrating my parents’ anniversary.
You might think it’s a little weird that Dad and I do this alone, but Mom’s always with us anyway. Even though I was little when she died, I have so many amazing memories of her through him. Read the rest of this entry »
